What a Host Home at the Manchester City x Buy Women Built Women’s Day Event

What a Host Home had the honor of styling the table decor for a private event hosted by Manchester City Football Club in collaboration with BWB (Buy Women Built). The event celebrated Women’s Day 2025. The evening was a powerful tribute to female leadership, impact, and collaboration. And What a Host was proud to play a part in setting the tone.

As a BWB member, the brand was selected to bring its thoughtful styling to the event. The tablescape needed to reflect not only the occasion but also the spirit of the hosts. The end result was a setting that felt purposeful and warm.

Creativity Led by Identity

The decor embraced a soft blue and neutral palette. This was done intentionally, as a nod to the football club’s identity. Soft blue was incorporated through the table runner, set to organically flow through the center of the setting.

Clean lines helped set a minimalist base. The brand incorporated warmth with their Margo Iron Rustic Candle Holders, which held sleek soft blue taper candles. When these flickered, a soft glow was added to the setting. Sleek white vases were placed in between the candle holders, adding variation in height. This kept the tablescape visually intriguing.

Each place setting was carefully arranged with crystal-clear glassware and neutral-toned ceramics. Small tasting bowls were also used to encourage conversation over shared bites. Every element was carefully considered to reflect the strength and unity of the women being honored.

Collaboration at its Core

Founder Melanie Kalfaian and her team worked closely with both the Manchester City and BWB teams to deliver on a shared vision. “From concept to completion, it was a team effort”, she shared. “It’s always a joy to collaborate with people who truly value intention and detail”

Melanie also had the pleasure of attending the event, which brought together an inspiring group of women across industries. Among the evening’s highlights was listening to personal reflections from Steph Houghton and Izzy Christiansen of the Manchester City Women’s team. These were two trailblazers whose stories left a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
