Modern Rustic Wedding Table Styling for an Unforgettable Outdoor Celebration
Under the filtered sunlight and amidst summer greens, this outdoor wedding was a picture of serenity. Every detail, from table decor to textiles, was intentionally chosen to celebrate both beauty and earth-conscious values.
At What A Host Home, we were honoured to see our pieces featured in this setting. Each product played its role in adding modern rustic charm.

The Table as the Focal Point
While the garden setting and wedding outfits caught everyone’s attention, the table setup became the main focal point of the celebration. Styled with soft, neutral fabrics, the table featured a clean and cohesive rustic look.
Porcelain plates were paired with What a Host Home’s handmade cutlery and candle holders, adding a refined yet relaxed feel to the overall design. Each piece was carefully chosen to create a warm, welcoming setting for an outdoor wedding reception.
Melita Latham, founder of Mash + Mint, shares:
“I was absolutely captivated by this beautifully styled outdoor wedding. This celebration perfectly showcases the art of considered styling, from the flowing napkins to the handcrafted candle holders that add sculptural form and romantic glow. Every element works together in harmony, creating a setting that feels both relaxed and refined“.
”I love how What a Host Home products bring an artisanal touch to the table. The Florence Dinner Plates and Lisbon Rustic Cutlery Set are quietly luxurious, and the Margo Candle Holders add height and atmosphere in the most graceful way. These pieces aren’t just accessories, they help shape the whole mood of the moment”, she added.
Flowing Fabric Installation
One of the most striking features of this wedding was the dramatic use of textiles.
The tablecloth was styled to cascade off the edge and pool onto the ground. This is an emerging trend in outdoor weddings that adds movement and a romantic, somewhat undone finish. Our Elia Cotton Gauze Napkins were styled loosely across plates and woven through the tablescape. This approach softened structured tables. We especially love how it invited natural elements into the celebration.
Elizabeth, founder of Mae Dae and the creative mind behind the fabric installation, shared her process:
“From Lindsay’s direction, where the English garden meets art, we found our muse. Using light, muted colours flowing organically, just like the trees and blossoms that inspire our natural fabrics. It was about working with nature, not against it, to create something truly special. I use fabric to uniquely transform wedding venues. From subtle enhancements to bold statements, fabric adapts to any style, era, or trend, regardless of wedding size.”

She also added: “For outdoor events, I prioritise natural, durable fabrics for their beauty and resilience.”
Elizabeth’s approach reflects a deep understanding of how fabric can elevate a space; effortlessly blending form, function, and the environment.
Elegant Tableware
Beneath the napkins were simple, earth-toned essentials. Our Florence Dinner Plates provided a neutral base with a subtle speckled texture. Paired with our Lisbon Rustic Cutlery Set, the place settings felt elevated. The hammered silver handles added an artisanal touch, showcasing the craftsmanship behind each piece. All items were handcrafted in small batches, ensuring quality and character in every detail.

Atmosphere, Lit by Candles
Tapered candles in slim holders added height and intimacy to the tablescape. This was especially noticeable as shadows lengthened into the evening.
We used our Margo Iron Rustic Candle Holders to frame the table. Their elegant height and rustic finish added contrast against the whites. The candle holders also acted as sculptural elements. They enhanced the silhouette of the table.
Ethically Made Gowns (A Natural Pairing)
Of course, no wedding look is complete without the right bridalwear. This wedding featured sleek (and sustainable!) gowns by Rolling In Roses. These are designed for the contemporary bride who values both style and ethics.
Hayley Neil, designer and founder, shares:
“Our contemporary, sleek, sustainable gowns were a perfect match. At Rolling In Roses we specialise in modern bridal fashion, ethically made to order using certified eco-friendly fabrics, so the natural, carefree vibe of the styling worked wonderfully with our pieces”.
And when it comes to summer weddings…
“Our dresses are always at the forefront of current design inspiration, and always with a focus on comfort, breathability, and clean lines whilst still retaining our signature avant-garde twist”.
Final Thoughts
This wedding tablescape wasn’t extravagant. It wasn’t overdone. And yet, it felt completely luxurious. Why? Because every detail was considered. From the textile-forward table styling to the eco-conscious gowns, it all came together elegantly.
