6 Tips to Design and Impactful Wedding Table
Have you ever thought that your wedding guests will spend most of their time sitting on the tables? Therefore, taking care of every detail is essential when organising the layout of your tables and, of course, dressing them. Achieving a balance between aesthetics and comfort will be the key for everyone to enjoy the party and stay until the end!
As the Wedding Planning Expert and founder of The Wedding Company, Anett Tarcsay, told us the first time we met when she was looking for wedding props: “When you turn that fantasy into a fact, you are in a position to build even better fantasies. And that, my friend, is the Creative Process - Bob Proctor. Since then we have started a joint search for products to dress her wedding tables, guided by her expertise as a Wedding Planner and Interior Designer and the experience of our founder, Melanie Kalfaian. Givenchy, Marriot and Hilton Hotels, Carmen Steffens, Warner Bros, and MAC are some of the international brands with which she had the opportunity to work with before launching WAH.
“Sometimes it's hard to achieve the decorating results you have in mind because you can't find the products you are looking for and this is frustrating and time consuming. When Anett from The Wedding Company wrote to us, she was very clear about what she wanted and our mission was to make those tables possible for her clients”, Melanie Kalfaian, What a Host Home & Hygge Decor Founder.
After months of intense work, we decided to summarise this year's trends, what's coming up, and how to achieve attractive rustic tablescapes for your wedding. Here we share 5 tips to leave your guests speechless!
1) Bet on rectangular tables and innovative layouts
Even before thinking about the decoration, the first thing is to consider what tables you are going to use and how they are going to be arranged in the venue. Although round tables are still valid, they are the traditional option for more classic couples (This type of table allows between 6 and 13 guests). On the other hand, rectangular tables are unquestionably a trend and are here to stay. More and more couples are opting for a more informal and rustic layout. Also, rectangular tables allow a much broader floral decoration where it is possible to mix different decorative elements such as vases and candle holders. Another positive aspect is that there is no maximum number of guests, since it is possible to make them as long as we want.
2) Stunning natural centrepieces
Choosing the right centrepieces is really fun. What you really need to make sure of is that you stick with your colour theme when you choose your decor items and also keep in mind the atmosphere you want to have. Choosing a table runner made of natural materials together with some green foliage leaves that has a mixture of your favourite ones is enough to create a path that unifies the entire composition. Eucalyptus and olive branches are quite popular when it comes to creating a greenery runner for the table. The trick is to not be afraid to ask your florist to make it thicker and don’t just put a couple of branches on the table. If your greenery foliage is bigger, the more impact it can make. This centrepiece idea fits perfectly with informal and rustic weddings, especially when the tables are made of wood.
3) Cheer up to color
Colour is the soul of the party and it is what will create the focal points. Of course, the best is to choose a colour palette that matches the time of year in which the party is held. In this summer table decoration, Anett decided to add touches of colour with the pink cotton gauze napkins, the the diamond pink tall ball water glasses and the green taper candles. Three colours that are absolutely complementary.
4) Attention to details
Even in a rustic wedding, informal details have to be thought through. In this case, choosing to arrange the pink cotton gauze napkins on top of the bohemian placemats in a relaxed way, mixing with beautifully printed garden wedding feel menu cards, natural agate stones as name cards and a touch of olive branch gave the dinner tables an incredible look.
5) Candlesticks and candle holders
It doesn't matter if it's day or night, you can't miss candles at your wedding to create a cosy ambience. In this case, it was decided to add a little vintage touch to the tablescape with these beautiful brass effect candle holders that match perfectly the tones chosen for the round rattan placemats and gold cutlery. Adding candle holders also allows you to provide different heights to create more points of attention.
6) Impactful flatware
Just as rectangular tables are an indisputable trend, so are gold cutlery. Cutlery in this colour range are very eye-catchy and elegant. In this case, Anett opted for a set of 4 pieces in stainless steel in different sizes. A detail that we love about this table design is the way in which the cutlery was placed outside the traditional scheme. As long as it doesn't interfere with the dynamics of the event, everything is allowed!
We really believe when it comes to table decor everything is allowed and there are no real rules that you need to follow with your set up (unless you have a traditional wedding!). We also encourage you to use your fantasy as much as you can and create something different that makes your wedding stand out!
