5 tips to create an Easter Tablescape to impress your guests (and what to invest in!)

When spring arrives and the good weather begins, we know Easter holidays are just around the corner! And with it come family meals. If you are going to cook and host a lunch or dinner at home this year, we will show you the essentials to design a modern and fresh Easter tablescape to surprise your guests. If you are one of those who do not miss any opportunity to decorate your home, this is your article!

Let's begin with the most important question: What should you invest in and how to create an Easter table design to impress your guests?

1) The palette selection

We always have to think about which are the 3 colours that are going to predominate in our tablescape (not more than that because otherwise we will start mixing too much). For a modern and fresh Easter we suggest you leave behind the light blue and pink colours and try a more neutral palette. Especially if you are going to invest in table accessories, it is better that you opt for a palette that is easy to reuse the rest of the year. Here there are 2 neutral tablescapes for you to find inspiration this holidays season:

2) The tableware

From What a Host we promote a practical and flexible purchase. Is it really worth buying plates with rabbit drawings just to use them once a year or is it better to invest in other types of details that do not go unnoticed by a napkin or the Easter menu? One of our biggest suggestions for creating a beautiful table design is, if you're working on a budget, make sure you have neutral tableware. You can expand your plate collection with time.

3) The flatware

At this point we think the same as regarding the crockery. The cutlery give a very special touch to your table, that's why we suggest you choose them accordingly to the color palette defined at the beginning. Whether they are silver, gold, black or rose, the important thing is that they contrast with the color of your table or tablecloth. Again, don't waste money on special cutlery for the occasion.

4) The table linens

Here we have two options, choose to design a table with or without a tablecloth. If the answer is that you want to include a tablecloth then you will have to decide whether to go for an Easter themed tablecloth or a neutral one.

The choice will depend on your taste and your budget. If this year you prefer to invest in other products, it is also possible to make a creative presentation with your napkins without incurring large investments. 5) The Easter details

Surely you were already wondering where this table began to look like Easter. Don't worry, we know that an Easter table cannot miss rabbits, eggs and flowers. Otherwise it wouldn't be the beginning of the Spring! So, we already have the base, now what we recommend is to look for Easter accessories that complement your previous selection of tableware, flatware and table linens.
